Curt Moore is cowboy to the core. He started competing in mounted shooting in 2000 and has worked full time in the horse industry since 1996. After rising to the top of the sport, and moving from Arizona to Texas, Moore has finally been able to realize another dream... opening the Shootfire Ranch. Envisioned as the ultimate cowboy mounted shooting experience, Curt renovated a charming 100 year old house on a cattle ranch. He welcomes students to eat, sleep and breathe mounted shooting - just like he does. We have two bedrooms for people to stay in while they work on their shooting and horsemanship. They can expect long days riding and beautiful scenery on some of the prettier parts of Texas. We have 600 acres to ride and lots of trails.

Curt has been training people and their horses for the past 20 years, he can show you and your horse technique that most clinician can't convey. Just ask any Curt Moore students and they can tell you that he is a true teacher...Whether you are an expert or a novice, we welcome students of all ages and abilities. If you do not have a horse you can train on a Shootfire Ranch training horse.

Shootfire Ranch is just south of Decatur, Texas and North of Ft. Worth. It is close to the airport which makes it convenient whether you are driving in or flying in. Should you bring your own horse, we can accomodate your trailer and horse(s). Whether you are here for Horsemanship or Mounted Shooting it will be an unforgetable experience
